Our voyage will span several years. It is therefore difficult to tell where the winds will blow us. We have, however, a plan for the first year, and would like to describe some upcoming highlights on this page.
We start out from Old Portør harbour in Norway on July, 4th, 2010 and set course for the North Sea and Scotland and the well-known Whisky Trail. At this point, we only have one date to relate to: We need to be in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, on Nov. 21th.
Based on previous experiences with the crew, the Wisky Trail will cost us some time to explore...
Depending on the vessel's behaviour (performance/repairs), we will spend some time at the shipyard in Les Sables D`olonne on our way down to Las Palmas. Another important issue is provisions (food/drinks). This will be done in La Rioja, Spain.
Careful calculations have shown that ca. 500 bottles of red wine of good quality should cover us for a while. Refueling will eventually take place in Las Palmas, Canary Islands.
We sail to San Sebastian and drive in to Logrono. Along Portugal's coastline we will visit Lisbon before course is set to Madeira. Then we head for Las Palmas and the participation in ARC 2010.
Last month of 2010 we sail across the Atlantic and hopefully land on the island St. Lucia in the Carribean before Christmas. We plan to spend 6 months in the Carribean/Latin America/Cuba before we set sail for the Amazon and Brazil. After that, we head for Falkland Islands and South Georgia.
Late autumn 2011 we head straight south for the Antarctic. We have a skiing plan...
